Background:


The Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (SR CTHB) represents the OSCE at the political level on anti-trafficking issues. The Office of the SR CTHB assists OSCE participating States in the implementation of commitments and full usage of recommendations set forth in the OSCE Action Plan to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings. The Office provides a co-ordinating function among OSCE structures and institutions involved in combating trafficking in human beings (THB) with a focus on the following activities: enhancing the awareness and understanding of THB across the OSCE region; policy planning and advocacy especially in the area of emerging trends of THB and effective approaches to combating THB; and direct assistance to participating States in practical and technical areas, at their request.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • University degree in international relations, international development, human rights law, social or political sciences or related subjects;
  • Minimum of six years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience with an international organization or
     NGO on CTHB or in closely related fields;
  • Demonstrated experience in advocacy work on CTHB issues, project development and administration and human resource and
    financial regulations;
  • Field experience in project design, development, fundraising, implementation and evaluation, including at least three years at the
    international level or alternatively at least three years of employment experience in a full-time anti-trafficking position;
  • Professional fluency in English with excellent drafting and communication skills; knowledge of other OSCE working languages,
    especially Russian, would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the OSCE and its area of operation; previous work experience within or along side the OSCE would be an asset;
  • Experience in networking and managing a high number of contacts;
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and administrative sills, as well as resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgement and team spirit;
  • Computer literate;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds,
    while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
