Background:

Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
- Advanced university degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Transport and Logistics or other trade related areas.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of seven years of postgraduate professional experience in, and exposure to the international business environment with a good
understanding of the business cycle, particularly with regard to trade facilitation, trade finance and trade law/business regulations;
- Experience in trade-related technical assistance to developing countries with a strong focus on project design,
coordination and management;
- Experience of the issues and challenges facing exporting SMEs in LDCs, developing countries and economies in transition;
- Proven track record in analyzing and responding to the business environment and trade development needs of LDCs, developing countries
and countries in transition; ability to keep abreast of trade trends and new client demands;
- Experience in managing business development activities and programmes.
Languages:
- Advanced knowledge of English with a working knowledge of French or Spanish. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience working in an international agency and/or technical assistance agency; international consultancy practice.
Duration of appointment: two years, with possibility of extension
