SALTO-YOUTH/ PARTNERSHIP BUILDING ACTIVITY SEMINAR FOR EVS MENTOR

Background:

The Partnership Building Activity for EVS Mentor is a contact making seminar for motivate young people who bring in contact Mentors from Programme Countries and “find out” the profile of the ideal Mentor. Aim is to motivate, bring in contact Mentors from Programme Countries and “find out” the profile of the ideal Mentor.

Objectives:

  • To learn how to cope with crisis situations and exploring tools for crisis management and crisis resolution in an intercultural environment
  • intercultural learning, dealing with ambiguity and change
  • volunteering
  • identification of the roles, rights and responsibilities of all actors in the EVS project
  • sharing experience, good practices, as well as methods and tools related to different aspects of mentoring.
  • To build a common ground regarding the needs and responsibilities of the ideal mentor within the European Voluntary service
  • To provide space for developing new projects ideas and setting up new partnerships
  • To explore the benefits of intercultural learning and presenting ideas to deal with ambiguity and change
  • To disscuss the importance of recognition of competences, obtained through non-formal education methods and the mentor's role
     in the process.

Eligibility:

Eligible participants are youth workers/mentors/tutors coming from EVS accredited organisations and youth workers/mentors/tutors who have been involved in at least one EVS project as a mentor. The working language is English.

Costs:

Boarding and loadging will be covered by the Hellenic National Agency. Travel cost for Programme Countries will be covered by the Sending National Agency.

Venue:  from 21 - 26 May 2012 in Greece.
