REACTOR / CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOPS ON MEDIA IN YOUTHWORK WITH DISADVANTAGED GROUPS

The REactor Conference & Workshop will be held in the European Youth Center Budapest with 31 peer educators, youthworkers, trainers and professionals who are residents in Council of Europe’s Member States.

 Aim: to focus on youth work with media and new information technologies, sharing results, information and creating a learning forum. The key element of the meeting is the concept of active and expressive media literacy as an innovative methodology in youth work and human rights education. This concept is to be discussed through results and examples.

 For whom: 31 peer educators, youth workers, trainers, and professionals, residents of Council of Europe member countries. Experienced and interested in media literacy and/or human rights, preferably with practical experience using media related methods.

Activities:

  - Debate about key matters of non-formal media education of youth
  - Discuss, share good practices or problems faced, solutions found
  - Evaluate of non-formal educational activities
  - Present results of the Video Volunteers project
  - Study visit
  - Discuss and design future actions

How we intend to work:

  - Plenary discussions
  - Small workshops
  - Individual meetings
  - Creative team work sessions

Duration:  In Budapest from the 19th till the 25th of May 2012.  The project is funded by the European Youth Foundation.
