Background:

In an effort to translate the recent progress made at the normative and policy levels on Women, Peace and Security into significant improvements in the lives of women and girls in conflict and post-conflict countries, UN WOMEN, UNDP and the EC have developed a two-year joint programme funded by the European Commission’s Instrument for Stability which will be implemented in Liberia, Timor Leste and Kosovo. The programme is expected to strengthen the capacity and coordination of relevant EU and UN institutions and actors, establish regular spaces for dialogue with women’s civil society, and support women’s participation in peacebuilding. UN Women, UNDP and European Commission Liaison Office (ECLO) have developed a detailed workplan to guide implementation.

  - Excellent communication and facilitation skills
   - Flexibility and creativity in finding suitable/ alternative  solutions for achieving programme goals, if necessary
   - Strong leadership skills and sense for team work
   - Respect for diversity  

Required Skills and Experience:

- Graduate level (MA Degree) of qualification in development studies, international relations, political science, gender or similar;
- Fluency in English (orally and written) as well as in Albanian and Serbian
- High computer literacy
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management: knowledge of results-based management (RBM), Human Rights Based Approach
- Experience working on projects/ programmes addressing post-conflict needs;
- Knowledge of key international human rights standards and frameworks;

Starting Date :  01 June 2012
Duration of Initial Contract : 1 year
