Background:


The overall objective of the program is improved human security and stability in North, South Mitrovicë/a and Zvecan/Zveçan through multi-sectoral approach ensuring protection and empowerment of local stakeholders building appropriate institutions  and enabling planning and delivering of  services to fully meet the needs of different communities.
 
The Programme aims to improve the current situation through:

  • Capacity building of concerned local institutions for policy implementation, inclusive service delivery
  • Creating conditions for local economic development opportunities to reduce overall poverty level and ensure employment
  • Improved inter-community relations through increased local ownership and empowerment

Competencies:

•    Knowledge of the micro-finance in Kosovo or the Balkans; proven experience with designing,
      implementing or reviewing microfinance institutions in SEE.
•    Substantive knowledge of relevant development issues.
•    Strong communication skills.
•    Strong analytical skills
•    English is the working language for the assignment; proficiency in speaking, reading and writing is required.

Required Skills and Experience:

Education:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in finance, banking, development studies, or related field.

Experience:  

  • Minimum of six years relevant work experience in microfinance sector within the region or international
    preferably associated to a Microfinance Institution.
  • Familiarity with UNDP and UN system will be an asset.  

Language:

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Financial Arrangements:  

  • The payment will be made upon completion of the assignment.

Starting Date : 04 June  2012
Duration of Initial Contract: 10 working days
