On October 13, USAID Representative, Catherine Johnson, attended a closing ceremony for
USAID’s interventions to Albania’s livestock sector in areas affected by the 2015 flooding.
At the ceremony, four ultrasound machines were donated, allowing for the proper and
efficient detection of pregnancy. The donation was one of several activities organized by the
Livestock Entrepreneurs Association of Albania to support farmers who lost livestock during
the February 2015 flooding.
Project highlights include:
- 6,000 doses of high genetics to improve milk production and health;
- 790 bags of premixes as supplements of vitamins and minerals to increase milk production and
improve reproduction;
