EGY/ EU-FUNDED PROJECT COULD SAVE 20M TONNES OF OIL EQUIVALENT BY 2035

If the total energy consumption in 2035 is 112 Mtoe, the TARES project will save 18% of the total
consumption, the press release added. This amount of energy efficiency will be noticeable in the
construction (saving 8.6 Mtoe), industrial (saving 6.76 Mtoe), and transport (4.5 Mtoe) sectors.
The press release came after the first Energy Efficiency Governance workshop, which included an
EU delegation, along with the ministries of electricity and renewable energy, and petroleum and
