ENPI EAST/ A CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION ‘TOUR’ IN THE BALTIC STATES

The cross-border cooperation project ‘Tour’ has attended three international fairs taking place
in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn – capitals of the Baltic States – to highlight the attractiveness and
increase knowledge of the regions of Latgale (Latvia) and Pskov (Russia). The project – whose
full name is “Tour de Latgale and Pskov” – is funded by the European Union within the
framework of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation programme.
In a joint stand, the project presented 19 new recreation places in Latgale and 5 in Pskov
Oblast. A newly issued travel guide “Latgale unites!” and a booklet "Open the Rus!" were also
presented, and raised the interest of participants. Information on travelling opportunities to
Latgale and Pskov was provided to tour operators from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, as
well as Russia, and to potential tourists from all countries.
The Tour de Latgale & Pskov project aims to develop cooperation and to establish permanent networks in the tourism sector between the Latgale and Pskov Regions.
