Eastern Partnership cooperation in the fight against irregular migration was in focus as partners
involved in an EU-funded regional project met in Vienna to discuss actions and lessons
learned, as well as ways to move forward and plans for training of institutions and border
guards.
Implementing partners of the project – Eastern Partnership cooperation in the fight against
irregular migration - supporting the implementation of the Prague Process Action Plan
(EaP SIPPAP) – discussed its implementation, work plan, educational component, lessons
learnt and cooperation modalities with EU border agency Frontex.
They also discussed upcoming activities, which will include study visits, workshops, meetings
of Eastern Partnership (EaP) institutions, discussions on the MoU on inter-agency cooperation
in education among EaP and EU institutions, production of Integrated Border Management (IBM) pocket guides for institutions and operational staff, and drafting of the common curricula on ‘Training of Trainers’. The curricula developed will be a set of modules and topics on IBM, based on best practices, which will then be recommended for the education programme for border guards...(link)
