A pilot project has been launched in Beirut, aimed at improving traffic safety and signalling, and
reducing the number of deaths and injuries caused by speed and driving under the influence of
alcohol. It is part of the EU-funded EuroMed Transport project on Support to the MENA Road
Safety Programme.
The pilot project "We got together so that no road separates you" is the first of its kind in
Lebanon. It will last three years and will cover the area extending from Antelias to Jbeil
(Byblos).
The pilot project is being implemented by the Global Road Safety Partnership – MENA
(GRSP MENA), a partnership between governments, enterprises and civil society organisations
(CSO), in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent
Societies...(link)
