EGY/ EGYPT: INFO SESSION FOR APPLICANTS TO EIDHR CALL FOR PROPOSALS TO STRENGTHEN CIVIL SOCIETY IN PROMOTING HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRATIC REFORMS

An information session has been scheduled for applicants interested in the call for proposals to
strengthen the role of civil society in promoting human rights and democratic reforms in Egypt.
The call has a budget of €950,000 and was published under the reference
EuropeAid/135796/DD/ACT/EG.
The information session will be held on Thursday 5 June at 10am at the headquarters of the EU
Delegation in Cairo, Egypt.
Interested applicants and co-applicants are encouraged to attend. Registration for the
information session is compulsory and can be done by sending an email to following address:
delegation-egypt-eidhr@eeas.europa.eu, stating the name of the organization (one person per
organization).
The deadline for submission of proposals is 29 June 2014.
The specific objective of the Call for Proposals under the "European Instrument for Democracy & Human Rights (EIDHR) Country-Based Support Scheme - Egypt 2014" is to support civil society in Egypt working on human rights (political, civil, economic, social and cultural) and democratisation, so as to:
1) pursue common agendas for human rights and democratic reform
2) build towards consensus on disputed or controversial areas of policy
3) enhance political representation and participation
4) enhance the inclusiveness and pluralism of civil society
5) support activities aimed at promoting the issues covered by EU guidelines on Human Rights...(link)
