REG/ EU-WESTERN BALKANS CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN BERLIN

A high-level EU-Western Balkans meeting on regional cooperation will be held in Berlin, Germany
 on Thursday, a European Union (EU) statement said Tuesday.

 Heads of government and ministers from all six Western Balkans countries, including Albania,
 Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and
 Serbia will participate the conference.

 According to the statement, the aim of the meeting is to reiterate the EU's commitment to the
 European perspective of all Western Balkan countries and support for the accession process, not
 least by facilitating increased regional cooperation.

 European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will first have a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Merkel and then participate in the Western Balkans leaders' segment of the summit. He will notably introduce the discussion about regional cooperation and the EU dimension.

In the context of the summit, European Commissioner Fule will attend the meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and European Commission Vice President Oettinger will attend a Western Balkans business meeting...(link)
