Background


Since 2009, UniCredit & Universities Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo Foundation has been in full operation. The Foundation aims to promote studies and initiatives designed to deepen knowledge in the academic fields of finance, economics, law, politics and the social sciences and to grant one or more academic scholarships per year in the same fields. The Foundation continues the activities of the former Fondazione Cavaliere del Lavoro Ugo Foscolo già presidente del Banco di Roma, established in 1966, widening its scope and adapting its operating procedures to the needs of the third millennium. UniCredit & Universities Foundation aims to provide annual scholarships and fellowships and to promote specialization abroad of the best European talents in the fields of economics, banking and finance. Every year, UniCredit & Universities Foundation grants several scholarships to students who are studying economics, banking and/or finance and wish to pursue a master or doctorate abroad. UniCredit & Universities scholarships are open to students from any of the 22 countries in which UniCredit operates. Starting in 2011, the Foundation has further widened its range of initiatives to undergraduates, launching its first competition for study abroad exchange programmes.

Eligibility
 
     - Applicants should have obtained a degree (at least three years in duration) in the fields of economics, banking or finance, with a final top
       mark, after 30 September 2009, in any European/non- European university (also outside the geographical area of the Group).
     - Applicants must be either citizens of all 22 countries where UniCredit is present, with a degree from any European/non- European
       university (also outside the geographical area of the Group) or citizens of any nationality with a degree from any European university
       within the geographical area of the Group
     - Must have good knowledge of the foreign language used in the university courses for which the scholarships will be spent.

(At least one of the three scholarships will be awarded to a female participant).
The area of the 22 countries where UniCredit operates includes: Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Scholarship

The 3 Scholarships provide Euro 25,000 (gross of taxes) for the 2012-2013 academic year, renewable for a second year. The sum includes travel expenses and health insurance, and are before tax. Appropriately documented university tuition fees will be paid by the Foundation.
