Background

There is a general political agreement in Europe that in order to ensure competitiveness, prosperity and well-being, all forms of innovation need to be supported. Design is increasingly recognised as a key discipline and activity to bring ideas to the market, transforming them into user-friendly and appealing products or services. Although still often associated with aesthetics only, the application of design is much broader. A more systematic use of design as a tool for user-centred and market-driven innovation in any sector of the economy and complementary to technological R&D would increase European competitiveness. Analyses on the contribution of design to competitiveness show that companies investing in design tend to be more profitable and grow faster.

Eligibility

- Applications must be submitted by a legal person.
- Consortium members must be based in at least 3 different states from the list of eligible applicants
- Applicants must correspond to the definition, of the following target organisations: eligible for funding are any types of organisations or
  groups thereof who are willing and capable to deliver a set of actions envisaged in this call for proposals.
- Corporate bodies must be properly constituted and registered under the law. If a body or organisation is not constituted under the law, a
  physical person must be designated to provide the legal responsibility.
