Background


The UN Kosovo Team seeks to engage a consultant to assist with:

   - The design, planning and implementation of UN inter-agency initiatives and action plans that prototype new ways of collaboration across
     the UN Kosovo Team, including a new joint UN programme on youth engagement that utilizes human-centred design as a tool for
     enhancing youth participation during all phases of the programme cycle.
   - The design, testing and implementation of a process and platform for “making visible” the answer to question “What is the UN doing in
     Kosovo” using Social Network Analysis and Mapping.
   - The identification of lessons learned and provision of recommendations for: a) scaling up pilot innovation activities; and b) embedding new
     approaches to collaboration employed by these strategic initiatives within the broader UN Kosovo Team monitoring, reporting and
     evaluation framework;


Responsibilitites

   - Provide support on innovation initiatives and action plans, including formulation, design, planning and implementation;
   - Assist with development of a process and platform for “making visible” the answer to question “What is the UN doing in Kosovo” using
     Social Network Analysis and Mapping;
   - Support the scouting for new innovative ideas and opportunities;
   - Support IN UNKT in development of partnerships and networks with local innovators, youth organizations, NGOs, the private sector, local
     media and academia to build and provide a space to nurture and test new and innovative ideas, and build local capacity;
   - Provide support in development and testing of innovation products and processes to strengthen and improve efficiency and effectiveness of
     UNKT programming, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy and communication;
   - Provide training for UNKT staff, partner staff, local counterparts and other end users in the use of innovation products and processes;
   - Document tested innovation projects and processes and ensure effective sharing and generation of knowledge around innovations in
     within the UNKT as well as with UNDG regional and global networks;
   - Whenever necessary, liaise with UNDP and UNICEF innovation experts from the region and around the world;
   - Whenever appropriate, represent the UNKT in global UN innovation networks for information sharing and leveraging of experiences of
     innovation colleagues at the regional and global levels;


Requirements

   - BA university degree in International Relations, Social Science, Economics or related fields. MA in International Relations, Social Science,
     Economics or related fields desirable.
   - At least 3 years of experience in public or private sector organizations working on socio-economic development and/or organizational
     change;
   - Experience in developing and testing innovation products, services and/ or processes is an advantage;
   - Experience with international development organizations (as employee, consultant, local counterpart, etc.);
   - Experience of cooperation and interaction with local stakeholders.
   - Strong IT skills are also highly desirable;
   - Excellent English, Albanian and/or Serbian written and oral communication skills.
