Background

In the frameworks of the second phase of “Women for Equality, Peace, and Development in Georgia” Project (WEPD phase II) that started in January 2013 and is scheduled to end in December 2015, UN Women has taken stock of the results achieved in the first phase and expanded technical and financial assistance to relevant national partners in the government and civil society. The overarching goal of the intervention is to support the realization of gender equality and the reduction of feminized poverty through addressing women’ social, economic, and political needs, with particular focus on internally displaced (IDPs), conflict-affected, and ethnic minority women’s groups.


Responsibilities

   - Ensure that progress is made in achieving WEPD goal and objectives in line with the project document and UN Women’ s country strategic
     plan;
   - Contribute to safeguard, monitor and facilitate quality assurance of all the WEPD project activities as spelled out in the project document;
   - Ensure successful implementation of the WEPD 2015 work-plan based on the outputs and activities as spelled out in the project document
     also as needed revise and update it;
   - Elaborate / revise WEPD’s detailed monitoring plan and undertake continuous monitoring of progress of project’s activities;
   - Support functioning of the WEPD Steering Committee;
   - Identify capacity development needs and develop adequate solutions to ensure effective implementation of the project, in particular with
     regards to  further capacity development of  local partners;
   - Contribute to the development of tools commissioned under the project, with emphasis on ensuring result based management and
     evidence-based approaches for the project implementation;
   - Effective application of Result Based Management (RBM) tools looking at mechanisms to track progress in project implementation and
     reporting;


Requirements

   - Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration, Law, Development, Social Sciences or related fields.
   - At least five years of relevant experience at the national or international organizations in design, implementation, management and
     monitoring of development projects, preferably in the area of human rights, gender equality and women, peace and security;
   - At least three years of experience in the field of gender equality/women’s empowerment;
   - Experience in project management, coordination, and implementation;
   - Experience in project monitoring including data collection, compilation and reporting;
   - Proficient in IT skills;
   - Demonstrated experience in policy analysis, policy advice and strategic leadership;
   - Familiarity with results based management and human rights-based programming.
   - Fluency in Georgian, English and Russian languages.
